Habit 1: Be Proactive

We have spent the first 6 weeks of kindergarten diving into the first habit.  For kindergarten it is a meaty concept and encompasses a lot of different behaviors:

I'm in Charge of Me
I Choose My Own Weather
I Make My Own Fun
I Follow the Rules Even When Someone Isn't Watching
I Try New Things
I'm Proactive, Not Reactive (I'm Like Water, Not Soda)

This was a neat creativity that I simplified for Kindergarten so that it didn't take too long.  Each student thought of a way they could be proactive for a shared writing.

October seems like a good time to start Habit 2: Begin with the end in Mind.  The first quarter is coming to a close.  We will record our first assessment results in  our data binders and will soon have new data to enter.  We will also be turning up the heat in our Kindergarten Challenge to learn all the names and sounds of the letters by Halloween.
