Be Proactive - The Little Engine That Could
To help my kindergarten students begin to understand Habit 1 - Be Proactive we read The Little Engine That Could. We had already discussed the many things that the students are already experts at doing. We also have come to the conclusion that the students are at school to learn more! Learning new things can be hard and we used this book to begin a discussion about believing in yourself and not giving up. We also made these little engines to help us remember our mantra "I think I can!"
